Delivery and Collection of Children

All children must be brought into and collected from the kindergarten room. Parents must also sign the attendance book, which is located in the foyer, when leaving and collecting your child. If you are unable to collect your child, it is important to notify staff as to who will be collecting your child.

For children to gain maximum benefit from the kindergarten session, it is important that they arrive on time. To avoid disappointment and anxiety, and to allow staff sufficient time to prepare for later sessions, children should be collected promptly after the session.

Procedure for Dealing with Uncollected Children

If at the end of a session, a child still remains after 15 minutes, and no one has called, staff will telephone the parent’s contact numbers. If there is no response, emergency numbers will be called.

In the event of the inability to reach any of these numbers by 5:00pm the kindergarten’s nominated emergency caregiver will be called. This person will collect and care for the child at their home and continue trying to contact nominated emergency numbers. A note addressed to the child’s parents will be left on the kindergarten door with a contact name and phone number only.
